2011 Cabernet
Sauvignon

This is a deeply-colored wine of concentrated aromas and flavors. Approachable and delicious, the 2011 Glenwood Cabernet is an agile performer that will out-step many bigger, more overbearing California Cabernets. The wine is full of dark cherries and black currants and has notes of cedar, sandalwood and coffee.

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc

Process

Winemaker Brian Nuss goes out of his way to find the very best varietals used to blend the Glenwood Cellars Cabernet. These varietals are sourced from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley including ones located in Rutherford, Oak Knoll, Calistoga and Mount Veeder. The wines are aged in oak barrels prior to the blending process which is completed by Carl Tiedemann and Brian Nuss. After blending and tasting, the wine is mixed in stainless steel tanks and then stored back in oak barrels until it is bottled.

Vintner Carl Tiedemann’s Notes

With each and every vintage of Glenwood Cellars Cabernet, winemaker Brian Nuss and I strive to blend a wine that is approachable out of the bottle and possesses good depth with an understandable complexity. We want this wine to have smooth, rich, soft layered textures that aren’t heavy on the palate, yet produce a memorable and long finish.  I believe that the 2011 Glenwood Cellars Cabernet meets those standards and marries beautifully with food, family and friends.
